The Post-Event Afterburn
The two weeks after the event are the cheapest registrations you will ever get for the next one.
What it is
The fortnight after an event is the only time your audience is uniformly enthusiastic, publicly posting about you, and reachable. It is also, almost universally, the fortnight the marketing team spends recovering.
The afterburn is a planned sequence for that window: recap content, super-early-bird registration for the next edition, and sponsor renewal - all while the goodwill is still live.
- When to run it
- After the event
- Who does the sharing
- Attendees, Sponsors, Speakers
- What it's for
- Return attendance, Registrations, Sponsor ROI
- Effort
- Medium effort
Timing: Day 1 to day 14 after the event. It is over by day 21.
Why it works
- Intent to return peaks in the first week and decays fast after it.
- The social proof is at its maximum - the feed is full of your event right now.
- Sponsors are easiest to renew while they can still remember the booth traffic.
- It gives next year's campaign a base of registrations before it formally starts.
How to run it
- 1
Write the sequence before the event
Nobody has the energy to plan it afterwards. Draft and schedule it while you still have time.
- 2
Lead with their content, not your thank-you
Photos, reel, certificate, carousel first. Open with value, then make the ask.
- 3
Open super-early-bird within a week
A steep, honestly time-boxed rate for people who were in the room. Frame it as a reward, not a promotion.
- 4
Send every stakeholder their own numbers
Attendees get their reach; speakers get their audience; sponsors get their impressions. Then the renewal ask.
- 5
Publish the aggregate recap
Attendance, photos delivered, shares, earned media value. That one post is next year's sales deck cover.
What you need
- A sequence drafted before the event
- Per-stakeholder stats
- Next-edition dates and pricing ready to go
What to measure
- Next-edition registrations in the first 14 days
- Sponsor renewals signed inside 30 days
- Recap engagement vs your pre-event content

Campaigns that pair with this one
BeforeThe Memory Banner
Auto-built posters of returning attendees in last year's photos. Nostalgia sells the ticket.
AfterThe Participation Certificate
A certificate people actually post - because it proves something rather than just thanking them.
AfterSpeaker Session Recaps
A poster per speaker with their best line and a link to the recording. They post it; you get reach for months.
We'll build the campaign with you
Premagic runs the assets, the tracking and the nudges - so the campaign actually ships instead of sitting in a plan.
