Campaign idea

Bring a Colleague

One tap for a registrant to invite a teammate. A direct peer invite is the highest-converting share there is.

What it is

A public post reaches many people weakly. A direct message to a colleague reaches one person strongly. For B2B events, the second one converts far better - and it is the share almost nobody sets up.

The mechanic is a one-tap invite in the registration confirmation: pick a colleague, send them a pre-written message with your name on it.

Timing: At registration, plus one reminder two weeks later.

Why it works

  • Business travel approval is easier when two people from the same team are going.
  • The invitation carries an implicit endorsement from someone the recipient already trusts.
  • It reaches inside companies you have no contact at, through someone who does.
  • Group attendance raises show-up rate and on-site engagement.

How to run it

  1. 1

Put the invite on the confirmation page

Immediately after registration, while they are still in the tab.

  2. 2

    Pre-write the message

Short, personal, forwardable. 'I've just registered for X on the 14th - you should come, we could cover both tracks.'

  3. 3

Offer a team incentive, not an individual one

'Bring two colleagues and all three get the group rate' works better than a personal discount.

  4. 4

    Follow up two weeks later

'Anyone from your team joining you?' - a single reminder recovers a surprising number.

  5. 5

    Track the invite chain

You want to know which companies grew from one registrant to five. Those are next year's sponsor conversations.

What you need

  • A share step on the confirmation page
  • A pre-written invite message
  • Group or team pricing

What to measure

  • Invites sent per registrant
  • Invite-to-registration conversion
  • Average registrants per company
